When do you wear a 2mm men’s wetsuit?
You wear a 2mm men’s wetsuit in warm conditions. Think of water temperatures from around 20°C and air temperatures of 22°C or higher. In the Netherlands, a 2mm wetsuit is mainly used in summer, especially during warm days in July, August, and early September. In spring and autumn, a 2mm wetsuit is usually too thin, especially with strong winds or longer sessions in colder water.
In warm kitesurf destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, Brazil, and the Canary Islands, a 2mm men’s wetsuit is ideal. You wear it when boardshorts feel just too cold, but a 3/2mm wetsuit is too warm. This way, you stay flexible while still having protection against wind, sun, and slight cooling.

A well-fitting wetsuit should feel tighter than normal when dry, but should not pinch in your armpits or behind your knees.
