Frequently asked questions about 2mm men’s wetsuits:
When do you wear a 2mm men’s wetsuit?
You wear a 2mm men’s wetsuit in warm conditions. Think of a water temperature from around 20 degrees and an air temperature of 22 degrees or warmer. In the Netherlands, you usually wear a 2mm wetsuit in summer, especially on warm days in July, August, and early September. In spring and autumn, a 2mm wetsuit is too thin, especially with a lot of wind or longer sessions in colder water.
At warm kitesurf destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, Brazil, and the Canary Islands, a 2mm men’s wetsuit is very useful. You wear it when boardshorts feel just a bit too cold, but a 3/2mm wetsuit feels too warm. This way, you keep moving freely while still getting protection against wind, sun, and slight cooling.
Kitemana wetsuit advice
For the best fit, we recommend trying on your 2mm men’s wetsuit in our Megastore in Noordwijk. This way, you can immediately feel whether the wetsuit fits well around your shoulders, chest, waist, and legs. A well-fitting wetsuit feels tighter than normal when dry, but should not pinch in your armpits or behind your knees.
Every wetsuit comes with a matching size chart. This helps you make a good estimate of the right size online. Still unsure between two sizes or not sure which model suits your body best? Contact us. We are happy to help you with personal advice.
