Ride Engine Men's Harness collection
At Ride Engine, you will find an extensive range of harnesses. Whether you prefer to kite with a seat or waist harness, a hardshell or a soft version. Ride Engine offers models for every kiter, male or female.
Ride Engine is a kitesurf harness manufacturer that mainly focuses on the demanding kiter. The brand makes a number of different types of kitesurf harnesses. All of them have one thing in common, the harnesses have a hard plate on the back. These so-called hardshell harnesses offer more support, comfort and last longer than the standard harnesses. Below you will find a number of popular models of Ride Engine harnesses
Ride Engine Hex Core Harness
The Ride Engine Hex Core harnesses are hardshell harnesses. Hardshell harnesses fit super tight and comfortable. Ride Engine was the first brand to come up with a hardshell harness, soon after more brands followed. The hardshell distributes the pressure of your kite over your entire back instead of a thin band in your back that is in normal harnesses. The Hex Core is the original model harness that the brand launched in 2014. The Hex Core is one of the most striking harnesses of the moment. In terms of appearance, you can immediately pick them out on the water. They come in a number of super cool colors! The Hex Core features a fiberglass armor shell. This is stiff and fits perfectly around the body of the kiter. The Ride Engine Hex Core has had a new closing mechanism since 2018, making it very easy to open and close. This is one of the most popular models of the moment.
Ride Engine Prime Harness
Since 2019, Ride Engine has a new model harness in its range, the Prime! This Prime harness is the successor to the Hex Core and replaces its predecessor. The Prime has anti-slip tightening straps, so it stays in place even better. It also slides up even less this year thanks to the fusion foam on the inside. The Prime, just like the other Ride Engine harnesses, can be used with a fixed hook or a slider rope if you like to surf.
Ride Engine Elite Harness
The Elite Type 2 Harness offers the perfect balance between performance, comfort and technology, with an innovative composite Step-2 hard-shell and the revolutionary Hyperlock Ratchet System for optimal adjustment and stability. This ultra-lightweight harness is ideal for technical freestyle and next level kitesurf sessions.
Ride Engine Elite Carbon Type 1 Webbing Connect Harness
The Elite Carbon Type 1 Webbing Connect offers kiters the perfect balance between performance, comfort and technology. It features a reliable webbing system and a 12K Carbon Step-2 hard-shell. The trad spreader bar, elastic waistband and various leash attachment options ensure an ideal fit, stability and adjustability.
Ride Engine Lyte Hyperlock Harness
It's finally here: Hyperlock! The next step in the evolution of harness spreader bar technology. The result is the most advanced, high-performance harness available today.
Ride Engine spreader bar
With Ride Engine harnesses, you choose your own spreader bar. Because many new kitesurfing styles have emerged, the traditional spreader bar is not always the one you want. Nowadays you can also opt for a slider bar.
Ride Engine Slider Spreader Bar
The Ride Engine Slider bar gives you much more freedom of movement than a normal spreader bar. You have probably noticed this when riding toe-side, that your harness is pulled completely to the side. With the Slider bar, this will no longer happen. You thread your chicken loop through the rope of the slider bar. The chicken loop can slide over the entire length of your slider bar. This makes the Slider bar super suitable for wave riding or foiling.
Ride Engine Fixed Hook spreader bar
The Fixed hook spreader bar is the traditional spreader bar. The fixed hook gives you more control and a fixed place where you can hook in your chicken loop again. This is especially useful if you want to unhook and do unhooked tricks. It is also recommended to use the fixed hook for big air. In the air and during your take off you want to be stable, the fixed hook ensures a stable position of your chicken loop.
Ride Engine Women's Harness collection
Ride Engine also has a generous range of kitesurf harnesses for women. The big difference between men's harnesses and women's harnesses is the fit. Women have different contours and the Ride Engine women's harnesses fit perfectly to the shapes of the female body. The harnesses are of high quality and Prolimit has a suitable model for every level of kitesurfer.

Ride Engine Contour V2 2023 Seat Harness
The V2 Contour Seat Harness from Ride Engine is the successor to Ride Engine's first seat harness and now comes with even more comfort and many features. The goal of Ride Engine is to finally equip a seat harness with all the technologies and innovations that were otherwise reserved for the hip harnesses.
Ride Engine harness technology
Hyperlock
The next step in the evolution of harness spreader bar technology. Ride Engine has once again raised the bar with their Hyperlock Ratchet Technology, delivering unmatched performance, comfort, and ease of use. Hyperlock uses the patented Hydrocinch technology, allowing you to adjust your Ride Engine harness for a perfect fit in seconds.
Fiberglass Hard Shell
This was the first technology used in the development of a hardshell harness. Harnesses that feature this hard shell include the Hex Core and the Prime Shell. The fiberglass shell is strong yet flexible, offering excellent support without being overly rigid.
Carbon Hard Shell
The new premium carbon and Kevlar construction make this Ride Engine’s stiffest shell to date. This carbon build is used in the latest Elite harness models. The Ride Engine Elite Carbon harness is lightweight and ultra-rigid, offering a superior fit that evenly distributes the kite’s forces across your back.
Dual-zone Closure System
All 2019 Ride Engine harnesses come equipped with the new Dual-zone closure system. This makes it super easy to open and close the harness, while also keeping it more securely in place. Nice & tight!
Fusion Foam Padding
All new Ride Engine Prime harnesses feature the updated Fusion Foam. Not only does it provide solid support, but it also feels incredibly comfortable. The foam gives you that true locked-in feeling.
Lumbar Lock
What sets Ride Engine harnesses apart from, for example, the Mystic Majestic X, is their rounder shape in the lower back area. This helps them stay securely positioned in your lumbar region. Ride Engine calls this the Lumbar Lock, an ergonomically contoured shell that locks into your lower back while kiting. This prevents the harness from shifting or rotating, keeping it firmly in place.
Speed Lock Closure
The Dual Zone straps lead into the new Speed Lock closure. This closure clicks into place with a metal clasp, making it resistant to salt, sand, and wear. A simple mechanism that still works even when your hands are cold!
Removable Handle Pass Leash
On the back of every Ride Engine harness, you’ll find a handle pass system that lets you easily attach your leash to the rear of the harness. Super handy if you love passing the bar!
