Not everyone needs a top of the range wetsuit to enjoy a good session. Sometimes you are simply looking for a suit that keeps you warm, feels comfortable and does not swallow your entire gear budget. That is exactly where the Prolimit Ace Steamer Freezip 4/3 comes in. This is one of the best value suits we have hanging in the shop. You get all the standard technologies from Prolimit, at a very attractive price.
The 4/3mm thickness is the most versatile choice you can make. From spring right through to late autumn you will be comfortable on the water, and it works well on a cool summer evening too. Only in the depths of winter, when the water gets really cold, will it feel a little on the chilly side. If you want to head out then as well, simply add a 5/4, 6/4 or hooded suit to your quiver.
The real standout feature of the Ace is the Freezip, also known as the double front zip. This YKK zipper opens all the way and detaches at both shoulders, so the upper body opens up completely and slips over your head. That makes getting in almost too easy, even when the suit is still wet from your previous session. On top of that you get all the benefits of a front zip: no stiff seam across your back and complete freedom of movement in your shoulders.
For the construction, Prolimit uses Airflex 500+ and 350+ NaturePrene2. This material is 100% neoprene free and made from bio based rubber sourced from FSC certified rubber trees, bonded with water based glue. In terms of stretch, warmth and durability you give up nothing. The chest and back feature an HR+ lining that holds on to your body heat and dries quickly. The panels are triple glued and blind stitched, with the needle only piercing halfway through the material. This keeps the seams strong and water repellent.
