Twintip boards are the most commonly used kiteboards out there. When you're new to kitesurfing, you always choose a twintip, because this is a very accessible kitesurf board. Most twintips are between 120 and 180 centimeters long. The shape of a kiteboard, together with the amount of flex, material types, and the dimensions, determines how the kiteboard behaves on the water. Depending on what you're looking for in a kiteboard, always choose the best kiteboard for your style of riding. If you just started, go for a twintip which navigates easily, runs fast and is very stable. If you want to cruise, you probably want a freeride kiteboard with enough flex. The real freestyle kiters often like a stiff twintip with a flat outline for a lot of speed and good pop. Whatever you choose make sure it matches your ride style.
Choice of material
Twintips are the strongest boards of all. This is because they are often built with a wooden core. If you glue wood together, you create a very strong base, perfect for kitesurfing. You need this because during a kitesurf session there will be a lot of pressure on the board. Some twintips are reinforced with carbon or another type of glass to make them even tougher. Usually, the expensive boards have higher quality materials and better manufacturing techniques are used to make the board. The price of a new kiteboard go from € 249 up to € 1499.
